Frequently asked Questions  

When should I book? 

Maternity sessions are lovely anytime between 28- 34 weeks. During these weeks you won’t be feeling as heavy as the final 6 weeks and there is less chance that baby will arrive before your session!   

New born sessions should be booked after your 20week scan, to ensure availability around your due date. Capturing a newborn as early as possible is best and, in a perfect world, 7-14 days old is ideal as they are typically still sleepy, not very alert and have that wonderful newborn skin. That being said, I have done lots of newborn shoots for older babies so please do not worry or think you have missed it, if for any reason we can not do it this early when baby arrives, whatever time we capture your new arrival it will be wonderfully special.   

Milestone or Family sessions can be booked at anytime. Please bear in mind that weekends get booked up first, so it's best to plan and book a few months in advance. 

When do I need to pay? 

To secure a session a  deposit is required when booking. This is then deducted from the final balance, which is usually due the day before your session.   

How long is a session? 

A newborn session typically lasts 2 hours, this is of course dependant on baby and if they are settled. I ensure that we have enough time for feeds and changes, and don’t want you to even think about the time during your session; I’ll keep going as long as need be.  

A maternity or milestone session usually lasts 1 hour, it can take slightly longer when on location.   

A family session can take between 1-2 hours, depending on the location chosen and number of family members attending. 

What sessions are available? 

For Maternity sessions these can take place in my natural light, home studio: Apple Tree Studio in KT6 or on location in Bushy Park (other locations can be agreed but may be subject to an additional travel fee and any charges associated with the chosen location). 

This is your preference and how you would like the images to look; white back drop in studio, or leafy, natural in the park.

  For Newborn sessions, these can take place in my natural light, home studio: Apple Tree Studio in KT6 or, in the comfort of your own home. Please note that an additional fee is charged for sessions over 5 miles away from my home address (Kt6). 

Family and Milestone sessions can take place at Apple Tree Studio, on Location or in the comfort of your own home. 

Do you provide help with what to wear?

Yes! Each season I search the shops to see what is available and guide you on what works best. You will receive a style guide after your booking is confirmed and deposit has been received.
